Questions

The questions people actually ask.

Including the awkward ones. If a question you have is not here, call us on 1-866-363-3427.

The same utility as today — SaskEnergy, Duke Energy Ohio or Nicor Gas. They own every metre of pipe between the main and your meter, and that does not change when you change supplier. We are not a delivery company and never will be.

No. One bill, from your utility, as now. Our supply charge appears as a line on it. We never invoice you separately.

Only the gas supply charge — the cost of the gas itself, roughly a third of a typical bill. Delivery charges, fixed monthly charges and taxes are set by your utility and regulator and are untouched. The full mechanism is here.

No — and anyone telling you otherwise is misleading you. It is 15% of the gas supply charge, excluding taxes, delivery and fixed fees. There is a worked example here.

The rebate accrues monthly and is paid out 1 to 4 times a year — once your accrued balance passes $100, or after twelve months, whichever comes first. A high-usage household reaches the threshold faster and so gets paid more often.

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our rate is variable: in some months it will be below your utility’s default rate and in some months above it. The rebate is paid on top of whatever the rate was. If you want a guaranteed fixed price, a variable-rate product is not what you are looking for.

In Saskatchewan you can cancel within 20 business days of enrolling at no cost, and after that under the terms of your agreement. In Ohio and Illinois your utility’s default supply service is always available to return to. Call us on 1-866-363-3427. We will not make you sit through a retention script.

Not us. Leave the building, and from a safe distance call your utility: SaskEnergy on 1-888-700-0427, Duke Energy Ohio on 800-634-4300, Nicor Gas on 888-642-6748. If there is fire or injury, call 911 first. Full safety guidance.

Do not give them your account number, your bill, or access to your home or meter. Close the door and call us on 1-866-363-3427 to check whether they are ours. This is standard advice across the industry for good reason.

Not one we will put a date on. Anyone who tells you an enrolment window is about to close is applying pressure, and pressure is the oldest tactic in this industry. Timing does matter in one honest way: most of the year’s gas is burned between November and March, so a switch that lands before the heating season has more gas on the bill to take a percentage of. That is a reason to decide, not a reason to hurry.

No. Future Now Energy is an independent retailer. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any utility, and enrolling with us is entirely voluntary.

The rebate, and how plainly we explain it. Every gas retailer sells the same molecule out of the same pipe — there is no better or worse gas. What differs is the rate, the terms, and whether the company tells you the awkward parts up front. We are also a Saskatoon business rather than a call centre. More about the company.
